I’ve given Rocco his birthday gift, so now I can finally share one of the highlights of my trip to Firenze back in October 🥳 After reading about @benheartitaly on @girlinflorence ‘s blog, I decided to go in and check out the shop on Via dei Calzaiuoli. Benheart is an artisanal leather goods brand created by Hicham Ben’Mbarek, a former luxury goods designer whom—at the age of 29–suffered heart failure while playing soccer and required a transplant immediately. With a new heart & second chance at life, he decided to fulfill a longtime dream of his... and in 2011, Benheart was born. 💼 All goods are made with 100% Tuscan leather, handcrafted by 🇮🇹 artisans in a small town outside of Firenze called Scandicci (also where Prada factories are!). I wanted to get something special for Rocco, and knew he’d love a customized belt with his initials carved in (they do this for you while you wait!). The staff had me pick the color, belt width and buckle... and were sweet as can be. In 8 days they’ll be opening their first U.S. shop in Beverly Hills, & even have one in Milano on Corso Garibaldi if anyone up here wants to check it out! Makes for a great gift for the holidays 🎁😘

Before moving to Germany, I had no idea that Christmas Markets existed. Wow, was I in for a nice surprise during my first Christmas in Germany! Now 6 years later, they are still just as exciting every Christmas. However, a lot of the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Markets) are flooded with tourists because they are the most famous in Hamburg. There are many lesser-known Christmas Markets in Hamburg which are smaller, but cozy with all the essentials and charm. You can find some things like Bio-Gluhwein, Vegan food and even local artisan crafts. What are the most coziest Christmas Markets in Hamburg? Check out on my blog (link in bio).

🧣Winters in Canada🧥 are quite a deal for immigrants, it takes time to get used to it. As the winter arrives followed by holiday season what we really miss is family snuggles and sipping hot drinks like coffee and hot cocoa with friends and family as the non-stop chat sessions go on… back home. . Sigh, we are far and count days to get back with family and friends. . Hence "Hot Cocoa" is our winter essential that keeps us warm at heart and in real. Questa casa l'ho scelta che ero da sola, mio marito ad Aberdeen per una intervista che ci aveva rovinato i piani ed il giorno della visita ero io e basta. Sono uscita ed ho sperato che prendessero noi come inquilini. Mi avevano vietato di fare fotografie e quindi la ricordavo appena, così quando entrammo per trasferirci avevo paura di aver fatto una scelta sbagliata. Non trovavamo casa, ce le soffiavano sotto gli occhi e cancellavano visite su visite. Che avessi fermato l'appartamento solo in preda alla paura di stare anche ad Ottobre negli Airbnb? -- I dubbi sono caduti tutti assieme, mentre entravo per la seconda volta dalla porta principale, questa volta con le valigie. Il corpo che si abituava agli spazi, la luce che entrava nel salone e l'albero nelle camere da letto. Mi e' piaciuta tanto e mi piace tanto anche oggi. -- Mi piace ancora di più perché ha visto passare amici e anche parenti. Le amiche che si sono fermate a dormire, le chiacchiere con la birra sul divano, l'inaugurazione e le cene improvvisate. Questa è la casa che intendo io. A baking sheet full of #home and #change I don’t get #homesick often in my #homeawayfromhome I don’t bake much, my grandfather was a baker, there was always a great supply of #homemadegoodies I never really felt the need to bake myself and now sometimes regret that I didn’t take the opportunity to #learnfromthebest I don’t like #givingupcontrol and feel once the dough is in the oven there is nothing I can do anymore whereas when cooking I can still juggle. Inspired to be better! After some days away from home I'm coming back with new thoughts and stronger commitments with myself.
