When I was traveling back from Bali it was a 36hr travel time with lay overs in Taiwan and Vancouver.. along with a horrendous 13hr flight across the pacific… this means sitting for a long ass time
On the first stop in Taiwan I was super exhausted and sore but 𝐈 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄.
So I walked around the air port and found a spot to do an easy full body movement series and just did random exercises and stretches for 30 min , and just moved my body.
🙌🏼I felt AMAZING after I wasn’t sore and my mental fog was gone. Then it got me thinking: most people workout with a goal in mind. It’s mostly weight loss, muscle gain, or body recomposition.
Its rare to hear people say they want to move for the other mental and physical benefits, their heart health, mood, energy, etc.
Each layover I would do 20-30min of movement right when I got off the plane and right before (and yes I showered and changed my cloths 😉). I realized a lot of us take movement for granted or only use it with an aesthetic goal in mind.
👉🏼Here are just a few benefits of moving our bodies:
✅𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘 𝐃𝐘𝐒𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐀
✅𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐏
✅𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇
✅𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐄 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐊 𝐎𝐅 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄
✅𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐄𝐗 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄
Looking at movement from another perspective outside of weight loss, you may find yourself starting to look forward to exercise instead of dreading it, SHIFT your mindset and look at movement as a stress reliever, a mood booster, a disease fighter, or any of the reasons above.
This way, you’re more likely to stick with it in the long run which is what really matters.
👏🏼And remember, ANY movement counts, even if it’s for ten minutes.
