Ok here we go, back in the Flow. Catching up my #inktober #inktober2019 drawings as I was indisposed in the hospital with a bit of an illness. Reason enough to quit, but no! I soldier on, in order, and will be pulling even with the pack soon! For now here is:
#inktober2019 Day 10 : PATTERN : ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I first became aware of the magic underpinnings of natural world patterns long before I was old enough to experiment with substance. It was very obvious to me that the Universe had a deep unifying Pattern that moved within and without all of it. My little drawing shows the fractal wonder of a springing young Bonsai tree having the same basic spatial relationships as its rocky outcropping, the low hills behind it, the mountain it roots in and the cloudy sky above.
The pattern is subtle, yet definite. It is the Golden Mean, the Magic Rectangle that drives everything from the Axis Mundi on up. At the corner of the drawing a Bucky-ball sun pokes up and glows mechanical rays across a patterned foreground, decorated in Polynesian graphic storytelling. As always, this is 5” x 5” .5mm technical pen on repurposed studio paper. INJOY!
