Marks that get stuck on acrylic or whiteboard over time are annoying and difficult to remove, which makes writing confusing for the reader. With this in mind, here are some tips on how to clean acrylic sheets with products for everyday home use.
Moisten a sponge with enough alcohol, wait a few seconds, then rub the stain with a clean, dry cloth.
Toothbrush paste or cream
Apply some brand of toothpaste or cream to your teeth, preferably white on the chalkboard marks, then wipe the chalkboard with a damp cloth or rag. This technique removes the stains caused by the constant use of permanent markers on the non-porous surfaces, as toothpaste contains a very mild, water-soluble abrasive ingredient.
Draw over old markings with a dry erase marker: Draw over what you want to erase with a dry erase marker. This technique is effective when you do it with a dark ink pen. This process must be carried out several times, whereby the board is erased as usual.
Spray on hairspray or deodorant spray
Spray hairspray or deodorant on the markings on the board. Wait a few minutes, and then wipe the surface with a paper towel or cotton cloth. Then remove any sticky residue with soap and water.
Acetone or nail polish remover
Moisten a sponge or towel with plenty of acetone and wipe the board. Repeat the process until the stains are removed from the plate.
Vinegar and water
Mix equal amounts of vinegar and water in a spray container, spray over the old markings on the board, and wipe them with a towel.
