The washing machine is an ingenious invention that allows us to quickly remove dirt from our clothes. Many think that it can clean itself because it always mixes soap and water. The reality is different. Like all electrical appliances, it should be cleaned at least once a month.

In reality, it is not a difficult process, although some time is spent verifying that it is being carried out correctly and, in this way, removing any debris that may end up our washing machine.

Most of the time, our clothes can have debris that won’t go away completely, and this clogs the drains, which are usually the biggest cause of problems a washing machine causes.

What do you need?

  1. Hot water
  2. White wine vinegar
  3. Sodium bicarbonate

Steps to follow

Start programming a hot water circuit.

When the first cycle is over, repeat the process with hot water. However, if the washing machine is full and starts to stir, this time add a cup of white vinegar and half a cup of baking soda, making sure it mixes well.

Let the cycle run for a minute. Then interrupt the process and wait for it to finish.

When an hour has passed from the settlement, continue the rest of the cycle to the end and let it go. When it’s empty, run a cloth dampened with vinegar through the inside of the washing machine and our cleaning is complete.

As a tip, we recommend investing in high-quality laundry soap, as these are easy to dilute and do not clog the drains of the device.
