Baseball caps are already common in all parts of the world, although the sport is not as popular in some countries as it is in others. Because it is easy to put on and can be used in any sports discipline, it can get dirty. Be it with the sweat of the body or some residues from the environment and here we give you the steps to wash them quickly and easily.
The first thing you need to do is check what material the cap is made of so you know if you can hand or machine wash it. However, it is highly recommended that you hand wash it for ease of use. Otherwise, you will have to clean it in the washing machine with an additional accessory (e.g. a cotton net).
What do you need to wash the cap?
- Any type of detergent
- A brush
- A pitcher to pour the water
The first thing you need to do is wipe it down (if you have one), then use the pitcher to pour water onto the cap. Once wet, take the brush, add the detergent of your choice (liquid, powder, or shampoo) and start washing all parts of the cap.
Gently rub the most delicate parts of the cap to avoid damaging them. After that, fill the jug with water again and begin removing the used detergent until there is no more residue. Otherwise, the detergent may cause the cap to fade or a shadow of its original color.
After this step, you will begin to dry the cap. This process can be done with a hair dryer (don’t put the cap in a tumble dryer, it may shrink) or just put it in a cool environment with the sun until it dries.
- Before washing the cap, check the information label on the cap to see the manufacturer’s recommendations for washing.
- Wash it off with cold water.
