It is very important to keep the car and its internal parts clean in order to have a car in tip-top condition. In this way we avoid the inconvenience that may affect our car and we go to the different places where we can go by car. That is why we are giving you step by step the opportunity to keep the spark plugs clean.
What do you need to clean the spark plugs?
- A compressed air gun
- A metal brush
- Tools for removing the spark plugs (common for sockets is 13/16 and 5/8 inches)
- Spark plug cleaner
Step by step
The first thing you should do is remove the spark plug wire or coil. This task must be done very carefully. Then pull out the spark plugs using the appropriate tools. This step is important because after disassembling you will need to clean the contour and mark each spark plug to assign each cylinder.
Then use the spark plug cleaner of your choice and dry it well with the compressed air gun. They will do this until they are very dry otherwise you will do the job badly.
The next step is to clean the threads of each spark plug with the metal brush to remove any accumulated grease. You will also use the cleaner of your choice to complete the cleaning in this part.
Finally, check the distance of the electron. It has to be 0.6 or 0.7 millimeters, otherwise it’s wrong. Then check that the spark plugs are dry enough to be reinstalled. And with the appropriate tools you can assemble your clean spark plugs.
- Do this work with the car in peace. Its engine must be very cold to do this work
